Below you will find the schedule for our dancers for the festival season. Please keep in mind that dancers must be in the rehearsal hall “ready to dance” 1 hour before the listed time (Intermediate and up need to be there 1.5 hours before hand)
All dancers MUST attend the class that falls directly before the performance to receive the last minute instructions from the teacher, should they miss we will not allow them to perform that the event. The only allowance to this is if they are performing with another routine that night and can not make it back for their scheduled class.

Below is a list of festival rules/guidelines so that everyone knows what the expectations of the studio are when we attend these types of events. All of the schedules are listed below as well.
Festival Rules/Guidelines
1.Festivals are allowed to run up to 1/2 an hour ahead of schedule.
2.Dancers must be in the rehearsal hall 1 hour prior to their scheduled dance time. This means that they are all dressed, hair and makeup done and are stage ready. If you need time to get dressed touch up makeup etc – please arrive sooner to allow time for this to be done. (any dancer at an intermediate routine should be there 1.5 hours before as it takes a good 45mins to stretch properly)
3.Parents are not allowed in the rehearsal hall at any time. Teachers need prep time with their team before they hit the stage. The rehearsal halls are usually very small and do not have enough room to accommodate dancers & parents.
4.Dancers are to start warming up – the instructor will be there a soon as she is able, sometimes she is back stage with another dancer. Stretching properly before performing is very important to avoid injury.
5.Once the instructor arrives she will rehearse the routine – should a dancer miss the rehearsal in the practice hall they will not be allowed to dance on stage that day. When we have a dancer arriving late all of the team members get worked up and everyone is on edge and the group never performs to the best of their ability. If you have an emergency and will be late for the rehearsal please call Miss Kim at 780-619-4072 and give her a heads up. Once the dancer arrives we will asses the situation and then make a decision on what will happen from there. Planning ahead and leaving enough time for driving and parking are very important.
6.We ask that the dancers please do not eat or drink anything in costume. Should a spill happen we have a mess it is very difficult to fix at a theatre.
7.When dancers enters the theatre area in costume they must have a cover up on – a jacket or sweater is perfect so that they are not a distraction to the audience members as well as the adjudicator.
8.When a dancer(s) from Devon Dance is on the stage we ask that you do not sit in the first 3 rows of the audience, this is so that the dancer(s) can fully concentrate on their performance.
9.NO PHOTOGRAPHY/VIDEO TAPING of any type, (including cell phones) at all theatres. It can cause the routine as well as the studio to be disqualified from the festival. It is also dangerous and has now become a privacy issue. Even if other audience members are breaking this rule we ask that you please do not join in. This also includes the adjudication period. Should you break this rule and our routine/studio be disqualified you will be responsible to reimburse all monies that parents have paid in entry fees. Please educate the audience members you bring with you.
10.No Parents are allowed to be in the backstage area at any time.
11.You may not remove your dancer as soon as they have performed – you must wait until they have been adjudicated and the instructor has brought the dancers back to the meeting location. Plan to be at the theatre for approximately 2 – 3 hours per routine.
12.No audience member is to speak to the adjudicator, writer, timer, mc, etc. If you have a concern please address it with your instructor who will then take it back to the festival owners/directors.
13.There are door admission fees as well as costs to park at most of these festivals. Please be prepared for this, most festivals only accept cash.
14.Please do not enter or exit the theatre when there is a routine on the stage.
15.Please cheer for everyone it takes a lot of courage to get up on that stage.
16.We expect that all of our dance family members will have a positive attitude at all times at the festival. This would mean treating individuals from our studio as well as people from other studios with respect and not making negative comments. Keep in mind that you never know who is sitting next to you.
From what I have seen so far the dancers look fantastic and we are all very proud of the job they are doing – remember dancers it’s the power from the inside!! Good Luck, have fun and remember to smile!
